Thicc Days

Dominic Virtosu's experimental works are focused on an exploration of the painted surface as a virtual geography. By applying thick layers of paint and pigment, the artist creates a battered, scratched and embossed surface of the canvas - similar to the aspect of a volcanic mountain, this surface catches the light in its profound crests and ravines.

Adding colorful pigments to the dry paint enhances this effect of depth and produces works that pop-out preciously from the surface of the wall.
