This unique work is part of the Secret Garden series. It was created in the summer of 2019 at the artists' home in Vrancea County, Romania. This work is a powerful statement of the immense expressiveness of colour: although it is never explicitly stated, a viewer cannot clearly say if this is a depiction of night time or day time. The ambiguity of this work is made even more powerful by the use of a simple, almost monochromatic color palette for its conception.
Is this a painting done at night? Is it just a monochrome? Is it a sunset or a midday landscape? You cannot tell. Looking at it for a long time, you get the feeling of peace, of tranquility. The feeling that you have entered a secret garden and that you're, somehow, peaking over the shoulder of the artist while he paints the poetry of his soul.
