Made in 2016 after a 2 month creative retreat on the Spanish island with the same name, "Porcelaine Tenerife" is a work of great visual impact. 

For this oil on canvas painting, the artist started by gathering relevant images from the island: "I felt that my photographs of explorations through the island could provide valuable material for a collage of some sort" said Virtosu; "I wanted to tell the story of the island experience: from beautiful beaches to lush forestry, to the kitschy back alleys filled with british tourists and other vacation goers looking to buy some cheap souvenir: all of this fit well together just like in a puzzle."
